Chapter 25

The destruction of Sterling Vance took exactly twelve minutes. Emily walked out of his corporate headquarters, leaving him weeping in his ruined boardroom, much like her former husband. But the victory was incomplete. Jessica Carter was still a loose end, a toxic parasite that refused to die. Emily received an urgent, encrypted call from Maria, the trusted nanny. "Ms. Carter! It's Olivia's preschool," Maria gasped, her voice thick with panic. "The private security detail intercepted a woman trying to bypass the perimeter fence near the playground. It's Jessica. She tried to grab Olivia!" The cold, sociopathic calculation that drove Emily's corporate conquests instantly evaporated, replaced by the primal, blinding fury of a mother. "Is Olivia safe?" Emily demanded, sprinting toward her waiting armored SUV. "She is perfectly safe, ma'am. The security team tackled Jessica before she could even reach the grass. The police are already here." Emily ended the call, her chest heaving as she climbed into the back of the SUV. The Carters had pushed her to the absolute limit. They had forced her to flip tables and destroy syndicates, but attempting to kidnap her four-year-old daughter was a line that could not be uncrossed. "Take me to the police precinct," Emily ordered her driver, her American accent dripping with a lethal, apocalyptic rage. "And Silas, I want David Carter picked up from that motel. Today, the Carter bloodline is permanently erased from our lives."
