Chapter 14

The revelation hung in the smoke-filled air. Alessandro stared down at the weeping lieutenant, his sharply defined jawline locking into stone. Bianca had gone rogue. Driven by pure, narcissistic rage over the broken engagement, she had bypassed her father to launch a reckless, suicidal strike against the Rizzano empire.
"Secure him," Alessandro ordered as Dante and the rest of the strike team finally caught up, surrounding the wounded lieutenant. "Put out the fires and lock down the perimeter."
"Boss, if Bianca orchestrated this without the Don's approval, the Moretti family is fractured," Dante analyzed, lowering his rifle. "She just handed us the perfect justification for a full-scale war."
"There will be no war, Dante," Alessandro replied coldly, wiping a smudge of soot from his otherwise flawless, rosy skin. "Wars cost money and men. This is an extermination."
"What are your orders?"

"Find out exactly where Bianca is hiding," Alessandro commanded, turning his back on the burning warehouse. "Don Moretti will try to shield her from the fallout once he realizes what she has done. I want her isolated."
Alessandro walked back to his armored SUV, the cinematic glow of the flames casting long, dramatic shadows behind him. Bianca had dared to touch his daughter's hair, and now she had dared to touch his livelihood. She had believed her aristocratic status made her untouchable. By sunrise, she would learn that she was nothing more than ash.
