Chapter 12

The southern docks were a sprawling maze of rusted shipping containers and heavy industrial cranes. As Alessandro’s armored convoy tore through the perimeter gates, the night sky was illuminated by the violent, roaring orange flames consuming warehouse number four.

Alessandro stepped out of the lead SUV, his dark, tailored dress shirt billowing slightly in the heated wind. The cinematic, bright lighting of the estate was gone, replaced by the chaotic, flickering glow of the inferno.

"They used incendiary charges, Boss," Dante shouted over the crackling roar of the fire. "Our men inside were pinned down, but they managed to secure the primary shipments before the roof collapsed."

"Where are the hostiles?" Alessandro demanded, his cold, intimidating eyes scanning the shadows between the massive metal containers.

"They retreated toward the loading bays!" a bleeding capo reported, clutching his arm. "There’s a squad of about a dozen men holding the bottleneck!"

Alessandro racked the slide of his weapon. "No one leaves these docks alive. Flank them from the east. I will take the center."

"Alessandro, it's too dangerous to lead the push!" Dante warned, stepping in front of him.

"Move, Dante," Alessandro whispered, his voice dripping with lethal, unyielding authority.

He didn't wait for his men. Alessandro stalked into the smoke-filled corridor between the containers, moving with the terrifying, fluid grace of an apex predator. The Moretti soldiers thought they were executing a simple arson job. They had no idea they had just summoned a monster.
