Chapter 28

A convoy of sleek, armored black vehicles rolled slowly through the wrought-iron gates of the city’s most exclusive private cemetery. Hundreds of heavily armed, sharply dressed guards lined the pathways, bowing their heads in deep, unwavering respect as the Boss passed by. The atmosphere was completely serene, filled with the gentle rustling of ancient oak trees in the morning breeze.
Adrian stepped out of the vehicle, holding baby Mia securely against his chest with his left arm while holding Clara’s small hand in his right. Both girls wore simple, elegant black dresses. They walked up a small green hill toward a stunning new memorial crafted from pure white marble.
"Is this Mommy's new house?" Clara asked innocently, pointing at the beautiful headstone engraved with golden letters: ELENA MARLOWE HALE – OUR ETERNAL LOVE.
"Yes, sweetheart," Adrian replied, swallowing the thick knot of grief in his throat. "She is finally resting in peace, where no one can ever hurt her."

He knelt on the soft grass, placing a vibrant bouquet of white lilies at the base of the stone. He traced the golden letters with his fingers, closing his eyes as Elena’s beautiful, smiling face flashed through his memories.
"Look, Mommy," Clara said, hugging the cold marble. "I found Daddy just like you asked. He beat up all the bad guys."
