Chapter 27

The following morning, the grand estate was bathed in warm, brilliant sunlight. Every trace of the horrific midnight slaughter had been meticulously scrubbed away, restoring the pristine elegance of the mansion. Inside the secure penthouse, Adrian sat quietly in a leather armchair, watching his two beautiful daughters sleep peacefully.

Catherine walked in, her injured arm neatly bandaged by the private doctors. She carried two warm glasses of milk, setting them gently on the nightstand.

"Dante called. The Commission is officially disbanded, and the remaining families have pledged absolute loyalty," Catherine whispered. "It is over, Adrian. You have won."

"Do you think I went too far?" Adrian asked softly, his eyes never leaving little Mia’s innocent face.

"They started a war, and you ended it," Catherine smiled, resting a reassuring hand on his broad shoulder. "Elena would be incredibly proud of the man you have become. You kept them safe."

At the mention of Elena’s name, a heavy ache settled in his chest. He stood up, leaning over the bed to kiss Clara’s forehead. The little girl stirred, opening her bright blue eyes.

"Good morning, Daddy," Clara smiled, her sweet voice melting his hardened heart.

"Good morning, my brave princess," Adrian smiled warmly. "Get dressed. We are going to visit Mommy."
