Chapter 25

The sheer force of Adrian’s punch sent Marcus flying backward, crashing violently through the heavy glass doors of the balcony. The thick pane shattered into a thousand glittering pieces. Before the older man could even register the agonizing pain, Adrian was upon him. His tattooed hand clamped around Marcus’s throat, lifting him effortlessly off the wooden decking.
"Because of your greed, my daughters grew up without a father," Adrian roared, his eyes blazing with a terrifying, demonic wrath. "Because of you, the woman I loved died alone in exile!"
"Please... forgive me," Marcus choked out, his legs kicking uselessly in the cold night air as his face turned a deep, bruised purple.
"Forgiveness is for God. My job is to arrange the meeting," Adrian declared coldly.

With a brutal slam, Adrian threw Marcus onto the wooden floorboards. The older man scrambled backward, weeping in absolute terror. Adrian stepped forward and drove the heavy combat knife directly through the palm of Marcus’s hand, pinning him agonizingly to the deck.
Marcus screamed, a horrific, piercing wail that echoed across the dark estate. Catherine looked away, unable to watch the brutality, but she knew this was the inescapable justice of their world. Adrian pulled the bloody knife free and stood over his prey.
