Chapter 34

"We are going to have a private conversation," Vincent commanded softly, his volume incredibly low but carrying immense, undeniable weight. He gestured with his tattooed hand toward the VIP lounge at the back of the ballroom. Senator Hayes looked around desperately for his security detail, but his guards had already been quietly neutralized and replaced by Vincent's elite operators. Trembling violently, the Senator walked into the soundproof VIP room. Vincent followed, the heavy oak door clicking shut behind them, sealing the politician in a luxurious tomb. The room was bathed in crisp, neutral white light, casting sharp shadows across Vincent’s angular face and high-bridged nose. "You authorized the freezing of my assets," Vincent stated, his dead, unblinking eyes locking onto Hayes. "It is federal law!" Hayes stammered, attempting to muster a shred of false bravado. "You are a criminal, Caruso! I will see your entire syndicate dismantled and your family ruined!" Vincent didn't flinch. He slowly reached into the inner pocket of his tailored suit jacket. He withdrew a sleek, encrypted flash drive and tossed it casually onto the glass coffee table between them. "Open it," Vincent whispered.
