Chapter 18

The heavy, reinforced mahogany doors of the Commission boardroom exploded inward with a deafening, concussive roar.

The five most powerful Mafia bosses in New York, sitting around an opulent glass table, shrieked as smoke and debris filled the room. Their elite bodyguards drew their weapons, but they were instantly neutralized by the devastating, surgical crossfire from Vincent’s tactical team pouring through the breach.

Vincent stepped into the ruined boardroom, the smoke clearing around his towering, imposing frame. He lowered his weapon, looking at the five terrified men cowering behind their expensive leather chairs.

"Vincent Ravelli," Don Salvatore, the oldest and most ruthless of the bosses, gasped, his fair skin pale and sweaty. "You... you attacked a sanctioned summit! This is madness!"

"Madness was poisoning my father," Vincent stated, his voice incredibly low, measured, and absolute. "Madness was conspiring with my sister to lock my wife in a wall for four years. You brought this madness upon yourselves."

"We can negotiate!" another Boss pleaded, holding his hands up in surrender. "We can offer you territory! Money! Complete autonomy!"

"I already have complete autonomy," Vincent replied coldly. He walked slowly around the table, the sharp, elegant tattoos on his neck visible above his tactical vest.

He stopped directly behind Don Salvatore’s chair. The old man trembled violently.

"You ordered the hit on my estate," Vincent whispered, leaning down so his mouth was inches from Salvatore's ear. "You tried to kill my daughter."

"It was just business, Vincent!" Salvatore cried out, a pathetic, desperate excuse.

"This is just business, too," Vincent said smoothly.

He didn't hesitate. He raised his suppressed sidearm and executed Don Salvatore with a single, flawless shot. The remaining four bosses screamed in terror, realizing that negotiation was impossible. They were trapped in a room with a man who felt no mercy.
