Chapter 19

The execution of Don Salvatore paralyzed the remaining bosses. They stared at Vincent, the absolute realization of their doom settling heavily over them.
"You have two choices," Vincent announced, his American accent crisp and lethal, echoing in the blood-spattered boardroom. "You can die here, today, alongside Salvatore. Or you can sign over your territories, your ports, and your legitimate businesses to my holding company, and immediately retire to Europe. If I ever see your faces in America again, I will hunt you down."
The choice was clear. Stripped of their power and terrified of the monster standing before them, the four remaining bosses hastily agreed to the terms, effectively surrendering the entire East Coast underworld to Vincent’s control.
The transition was brutal, efficient, and absolute.
Within hours, Vincent’s operatives had secured the New York ports, liquidated the Commission’s assets, and cemented the Caruso family as the undisputed, untouchable kings of the American mafia.
Vincent walked out of the Azure Tower as the sun rose, casting a brilliant, cinematic light over the city. He had won the war. He had avenged his father, dismantled his enemies, and secured his empire.
He flew back to his city, bypassing his old estate entirely. He drove directly to the heavily fortified, sprawling compound where he had sent his family.
The gates hummed open, and Vincent stepped out of his SUV. The bright, natural sunlight illuminated the lush green lawns and the towering white stone of the mansion.
He walked into the grand living room, shedding his tactical gear.
Clara and Evelyn were sitting on a plush, velvet sofa. Evelyn looked significantly healthier, her pale skin beginning to regain a faint, rosy flush. She was wearing a soft, elegant sweater, no longer the ragged prisoner he had found in the wall. Clara was curled against her side, reading a storybook.

When they saw Vincent, they both looked up.
"Daddy!" Clara cheered, running across the room and jumping into his arms.
