Chapter 7

The bright, vivid colors of the pavilion seemed to mock the absolute despair settling over Brielle Sutton. The vibrant white tent, the lush green grass, the warm cinematic sunlight—it all felt like a stage designed for her execution. She looked down at the fabric sash resting on her expensive party dress, her mind reeling from the realization that she had entirely destroyed her own life.

"You’re a monster," Brielle whispered, her American accent trembling. Tears of genuine defeat spilled over her rosy cheeks. "You're all monsters. I just wanted to be the lady of this house."

"You wanted the crown, but you didn't want the responsibility," Damon replied coldly. He adjusted his tailored suit jacket, the deeply masculine, intimidating presence he commanded radiating outwards. "Being a part of this family means protecting it. You sought to break it from the inside."

He turned his back on her, a profound gesture of ultimate disrespect. He began walking toward the exit of the pavilion, his polished leather shoes silent on the grass.

"Damon!" Brielle called out, desperation making her voice shrill. "What are you going to do to me? You said I was going to be tied to that post!"

Damon stopped at the edge of the tent. The natural lighting illuminated his sharp, handsome profile as he looked back over his shoulder.

"I said the next person tied to that post would be you," Damon corrected softly, his deep voice carrying a terrifyingly calm authority. "And you will be. But not by me. By your own family."

Brielle frowned, confusion mixing with her terror. "What do you mean?"

"I just sent a message to your father and your brothers," Damon explained, turning fully to face her. "I informed them that you intentionally assaulted my children, and that the alliance is broken. I also informed them of the financial consequences they will face if they attempt to retaliate."

"They won't believe you!" Brielle cried out.

"I sent them the security footage from the terrace cameras," Damon stated simply, shattering her final illusion. "They watched you blindfold Caleb. They watched you tie Micah to the post."

Brielle collapsed back against the wicker loveseat, the breath leaving her lungs in a sharp gasp.

"Your family relies on my money to maintain their political power," Damon continued relentlessly. "They are furious with you, Brielle. They are coming to collect you tonight. And when they get you behind closed doors, they are going to make sure you understand exactly how much your little game cost them."

The psychological torture was complete. Damon wasn't going to physically harm her; he was handing her back to a family of ruthless political operators who now viewed her as a catastrophic liability.

"You have one hour to pack your things," Damon ordered, his voice echoing with absolute finality. "If you are not waiting at the front gate when your brothers arrive, my guards will drag you there by your hair."

Without another word, the head of the Roswell family turned and walked away into the bright afternoon sun, leaving Brielle completely alone in the wreckage of the pavilion.
