Chapter 29

"It was a mistake!" Julian wailed, his rosy face bruised and dirty, completely stripped of the cold, sterile handsomeness he once possessed. "I swear, Lorenzo, I'll disappear! I'll never come back! Just let me live!"
Lorenzo walked slowly across the concrete, stopping just inches from Julian's terrified, bleeding face. He looked down at the man who had brought a war to his doorstep.
"I let you live once, Julian," Lorenzo whispered, his voice vibrating with a lethal promise. "It was an error in judgment. An error I do not intend to repeat."
"No! Please!" Julian screamed, scrambling backward.
Lorenzo didn't draw a weapon. He didn't need to. He simply turned his back on Julian and began walking toward the heavy steel doors of the warehouse.
"Julian Mercer," Lorenzo said, his voice echoing coldly in the cavernous space. "You are no longer a threat. You are simply a message."
As Lorenzo walked out into the cool night air, four Ravelli operatives stepped from the shadows of the warehouse. They moved silently, carrying heavy canvas bags and industrial zip-ties. The heavy steel doors rolled shut behind Lorenzo, sealing the warehouse and cutting off Julian's frantic, desperate screams.

The threat to the Ravelli bloodline was permanently, irrevocably eliminated. Lorenzo had sanitized his world, ensuring that no one would ever dare challenge his empire or threaten his family again.
He returned to the estate, the sprawling mansion standing as a silent, impenetrable fortress in the darkness. The war was officially over. The king had defended his throne, and the enemies of the Ravelli family had been entirely erased from existence.
