Chapter 23

The warehouse district was a labyrinth of rusting metal and cracked concrete, cloaked in the heavy shadows of the night. Lorenzo did not send his standard enforcers; he mobilized his elite tactical strike team, the shadows of the Ravelli empire.

Lorenzo led the assault himself. He was dressed in black tactical gear, his rugged, movie-star masculinity hardened into the terrifying presence of an apex predator. He held a suppressed, compact submachine gun, moving with fluid, silent grace through the darkness.

"Thermal imaging confirms eight hostiles inside the target structure, Boss," his tactical commander whispered over the comms. "They are heavily armed and operating sophisticated surveillance equipment. These aren't street thugs."

"Synchronize the breach," Lorenzo ordered, his voice barely a breath. "No survivors. I want to send a clear message to their European employers."

The Ravelli operatives moved into position around the perimeter of the warehouse. On Lorenzo’s mark, they breached the heavy steel doors with shaped charges. The concussive explosion shattered the quiet night, filling the warehouse with smoke and debris.

Lorenzo stepped into the breach, his weapon raised.

The firefight was brutal and instantaneous. The Architects were highly trained, returning fire with disciplined precision, but they were entirely unprepared for the overwhelming, coordinated ferocity of the Ravelli assault.

Lorenzo moved through the chaotic crossfire with terrifying calm. He systematically neutralized two mercenaries who attempted to flank his position, his shots flawlessly precise. The warehouse echoed with the deafening roar of automatic weapons, illuminating the darkness in violent, strobing flashes.

Within four minutes, the elite mercenary unit was completely dismantled. The silence that followed was heavy and metallic.

"Perimeter secure," the commander reported.

Lorenzo walked toward the center of the warehouse, where the mercenaries had set up their command center. He looked at the glowing monitors, his jaw locked tight. The war had arrived on his doorstep, but he was more than ready to meet it.
