Chapter 19

Instead of panicking bodyguards, four highly trained tactical operators poured out of the second SUV, their assault rifles raised and perfectly aimed. They didn't shout warnings. They immediately laid down a suppressing barrage of synchronized, terrifying firepower. Graves’s mercenaries, stepping out of the black sedans, were completely caught off guard. Two of them fell into the snow instantly, neutralized before they could even unholster their weapons. "Abort! Abort!" Graves yelled into the comms, abandoning his sniper rifle on the roof and sprinting for the fire escape. "They knew we were coming! The intel was a setup!" Silas froze in the middle of the street, the deafening roar of gunfire echoing off the glass skyscrapers. His grand, orchestrated masterpiece was crumbling into a bloody disaster before his eyes. He watched in absolute horror as his hired men were systematically dismantled by Bennett's superior security forces. "No! This isn't happening!" Silas shrieked, raising his handgun wildly toward the lead SUV. "Bennett! Get out here!" The heavy, armored door of the lead vehicle slowly swung open. Bennett stepped out into the freezing wind, completely unharmed. His handsome face was carved into a mask of restrained fury. He didn't even draw a weapon. He simply walked through the chaotic crossfire, his eyes locked onto his brother with the cold, calculating mind of an apex predator. "Is this your grand plan, Silas?" Bennett asked softly.
