Chapter 20

Later that evening, the Morello estate was quiet and serene, bathed in the soft, warm glow of the interior lighting. Valentina sat in her private study, reviewing financial ledgers and finalizing the complete absorption of Victor and Celeste's assets into the central holding company.

The heavy oak doors of the study opened, and Thomas stepped inside, carrying a sleek, leather-bound folder.

"The final legal documents, Boss," Thomas said, placing the folder on her mahogany desk. "With these signatures, the transition is legally bulletproof. The old guard is officially erased from the records."

Valentina picked up a heavy, gold-plated fountain pen and signed her name with smooth, decisive strokes. "Excellent work, Thomas. Ensure the offshore accounts are heavily encrypted."

"Always, Boss," Thomas replied. He hesitated for a moment, looking at the formidable woman who had single-handedly reshaped the city's underworld. "If I may ask, Ma'am... what happens now?"

Valentina closed the folder, her dark eyes reflecting the quiet confidence of a ruler who had secured her throne. "Now, Thomas, we build. We expand our legitimate holdings, we solidify our political alliances, and we ensure that the Morello name becomes synonymous with untouchable power."

She stood up and walked to the large window overlooking the manicured grounds of the estate. The security perimeter was heavily fortified, patrolled by elite guards who understood that their loyalty belonged entirely to her.

"We are going to build an empire that Owen can inherit without having to fire a single shot," Valentina whispered, her voice a low, vibrating hum of absolute determination.

She had flipped the table, broken the old rules, and rewritten the future of her family. The war was over, and Valentina Morello had won the game. She turned back to her study, ready to govern the kingdom she had secured with blood, iron, and a mother's uncompromising love.
