Chapter 10

The transition from a joyous wedding celebration to a high-stakes military lockdown was seamless and terrifying. The bright video colors of the cinematic daylight slowly began to shift as the afternoon sun dipped lower in the sky, casting long, dramatic shadows across the marble floors of the Bellandi estate.
Nico stood in the center of the grand ballroom, his dark tailored three-piece suit an anchor of absolute power amidst the terrified crowd. He held the black USB drive tightly in his right hand, the plastic digging into his palm. It was the key to unearthing every rat in his organization.
"Are we going to be okay, Daddy?" Vivia whispered softly, her face still pressed against his neck. The little girl had stopped crying, but her small body was still tense with residual fear.
"We are going to be more than okay, Vivia," Nico promised, pressing a firm, protective kiss to her forehead. "I am going to make sure that the people who hurt Mommy can never hurt anyone else ever again."
He carried his daughter across the room, bypassing the terrified guests and the pale, sweating capos. He walked directly toward the heavy oak doors of his private study. Two loyal bodyguards stood at attention outside, immediately pulling the doors open as he approached.
"Bring a secure laptop into my office immediately," Nico instructed one of the guards. "Disconnect it from all networks. I want it completely isolated."
"Right away, Mr. Bellandi," the guard nodded, rushing off to comply.
Nico stepped into the quiet, mahogany-paneled study. The room was highly secured, lined with bulletproof glass and heavy leather furniture. He gently set Vivia down on a plush sofa, grabbing a soft cashmere blanket to wrap around her small shoulders.
"You rest here for a minute, sweetheart," Nico murmured warmly. "Daddy has to do some work."
"Okay," Vivia nodded, pulling the blanket tight around her old, tattered dress. It was no longer just a piece of clothing; it was a sacred artifact that had protected the truth.
Nico walked over to his massive oak desk. He set the black USB drive down on the polished wood. He stared at it, his mind operating at a terrifying, tactical speed. The drive contained the exact details of Marcella’s treason. It would list the offshore accounts, the bribed politicians, and, most importantly, the names of the capos inside his own house who had helped her orchestrate the hostile takeover.
A guard hurried into the room, placing a secure, isolated laptop on the desk before quickly exiting and closing the heavy doors.
Nico sat down in his heavy leather chair. The charming, sophisticated facade was entirely gone. He was a wartime general preparing to execute a bloody purge of his own ranks.
He picked up the USB drive and inserted it into the laptop. The screen flickered to life, prompting him for a password. Nico typed in his late wife's birthdate, and the encrypted files immediately unlocked.
Dozens of documents, audio recordings, and financial ledgers flooded the screen.
Nico’s cold, intimidating eyes scanned the first document. His sharply defined jawline clenched. The conspiracy was massive, involving the Falcone syndicate in New York and nearly a third of his own lieutenants.
He reached for the heavy, encrypted telephone on his desk. He dialed a single number.
"Rafe," Nico said as his head of security answered from the basement holding cells.
"Yes, Boss. The prisoner is secured."
"Arm every loyal soldier on the payroll," Nico commanded softly, his voice dropping into a register of pure, concentrated ice. "Lock down the armory. We are not just executing my sister."

He looked up at the closed doors of his study, knowing the traitors were waiting anxiously on the other side.
"We go to war tonight," Nico promised. The Mafia Boss had found his wife's killers, and he was prepared to bathe the estate in blood to avenge her.
