Chapter 15

The interrogation was swift, brutal, and entirely effective. The surviving hitmen, realizing they were not dealing with a soft corporate executive but a ruthless apex predator, broke within minutes.

"He’s at the docks!" the lead hitman gasped, his face bruised and bleeding. "Richard is hiding at Pier 42! He was waiting for us to confirm the hit on you so he could hand the estate deed over to Roman's lieutenants!"

Aldric checked his expensive wristwatch. The cinematic, bright lighting of the foyer caught the sharp angles of his face.

"He is waiting for a ghost," Aldric said smoothly. "Marcus, process these two for the authorities. Leave an anonymous tip."

"You aren't going to kill us?" the hitman asked, genuine shock in his voice.

"I am a businessman," Aldric replied coldly. "I don't waste bullets on messengers. But I am going to make sure your boss understands the cost of crossing my threshold."

Aldric turned his back on the mercenaries and walked into his command center adjacent to the study. He activated the massive encrypted monitors lining the wall, initiating a secure video link to his elite cyber-warfare division.

"Sir?" a sharp, professional voice echoed from the speakers.

"Initiate Protocol Leviathan," Aldric commanded, his American accent crisp and lethal. "I want Richard’s bank accounts drained, his shell companies liquidated, and his digital identity entirely erased. And while you're at it, track the Roman Syndicate's offshore routing numbers. Freeze their assets."

"Consider it done, Mr. Vance."

Aldric grabbed a heavy tactical vest from a hidden compartment, strapping it over his dress shirt. He grabbed a suppressed assault rifle. It was time to pay Richard a visit.
