Chapter 15

The fiery destruction of their primary cover completely broke the morale of the Shaw strike team. Deprived of their armor and disoriented by the blast, they were entirely exposed in the blinding light of the security floods. "Push out!" Cameron ordered over the comms, his voice echoing with lethal authority. The Ashford operatives surged from the mansion, swarming the surviving mercenaries with ruthless, synchronized efficiency. The firefight was over in less than three minutes. The invaders threw their weapons into the snow, dropping to their knees and surrendering to the overwhelming dominance of the mafia boss. Cameron walked through the burning wreckage of the front gates. The orange flames cast long, dancing shadows across his angular face. He stopped in front of the surviving mercenary commander, a fair-skinned man trembling violently on his knees. "Did Marcus Shaw authorize this assault?" Cameron asked, his volume incredibly low. "Yes!" the commander choked out, his eyes wide with absolute terror. "He said you were weak! He said the estate was vulnerable because you were distracted!" Cameron’s jawline tightened. The sheer, blinding arrogance of Estelle's father was staggering. He had attempted to burn his home to the ground because his ego could not accept the broken engagement. "Will you deliver a message to Marcus Shaw for me?" Cameron asked, slowly raising his weapon. "Yes! Anything!" "Tell him," Cameron murmured, "that I am coming for his empire." He didn't wait for a response. Cameron executed the commander flawlessly, ending the immediate threat and officially declaring a total, uncompromising war against the Shaw syndicate.
