Chapter 15

The silence in the grand ballroom was absolute and suffocating. The veteran bosses stared at the financial ledgers, their fair, rosy faces paling as they realized the sheer, overwhelming power Emily held over their global operations. She was not a rogue wife; she was the financial linchpin of their entire criminal ecosystem.
Don Salvatore cleared his throat, adjusting his luxury wristwatch. "The evidence is... substantial. Ryan's actions regarding your son are a violation of the sacred codes. What are your intentions, Emily?"
"My intentions are absolute sovereignty," Emily declared, her cold, intimidating eyes sweeping over the table. "I am the undisputed head of the Moretti syndicate. Ryan and Natalie will be handled internally. Chicago will fall into line, or I will crush them financially before a single bullet is fired."
A younger boss from the Chicago faction stood up aggressively, his face flushed. "You can't just wipe out our investments! My men won't stand for it!"
Emily didn't flinch. She raised her left hand slightly. Marcus instantly drew his suppressed sidearm and fired a single, flawless shot. The bullet struck the dissenting boss in the shoulder, throwing him violently backward into his chair.
The room erupted into chaos, bodyguards reaching for their weapons, but Emily’s elite operators already had their laser sights painted on every man in the room.

The remaining bosses slowly raised their hands, signaling their men to stand down. Emily had executed a flawless, bloodless takeover of the National Commission.
