Mireya stopped trusting the inhaler pouch for a while.

She checked it constantly.
Opened.
Closed.
Counted everything.
Three-year-olds should not inventory medical supplies.
Margaret tried to help.
Mireya snapped:
“No!”
Then immediately cried.
My mother froze.
I crouched.
“What happened?”
“She might lose it.”
Margaret’s face broke.
Tove’s lie still lived there.
Grandma gets confused.
Grandma loses things.
I looked at Mireya.
“Who keeps the pouch?”
She hugged it.
“Me.”
“Okay.”
Margaret nodded.
No argument.
Choice first.
A week later Mireya allowed Margaret to carry it for five minutes.
Then ten.
