Chapter 15

The Ferraro council met that night.
No outsiders.
No Bellandis.
No hidden cameras.
Luciano insisted on that.
Augusto sat at one end of the room. Dario sat opposite him. Celeste was not present because she refused to turn her pregnancy into another piece of council theater.
Luciano respected that.
Anthony played the recordings.
All of them.
Dario positioning the phone.
Augusto coordinating the timing.
The Bellandi promise.
The hidden discussion about Celeste and the unborn child.
No one interrupted.
When the final video ended, one of the oldest capos looked at Augusto.
“You called Luciano unstable.”
Augusto said nothing.
The man continued.
“You pushed a pregnant woman down stairs to prove it.”
Dario flinched.
Another capo looked at him.
“No.”
He pointed toward Dario.
“He pushed her.”
Then toward Augusto.
“You made it useful.”
That distinction mattered.
Dario had committed the act.
Augusto built the system that rewarded it.
Luciano spoke only after everyone else had finished.
“Dario loses command.”
His brother lowered his head.
“Not because he challenged me.”
Luciano’s voice remained steady.
“Because he used Celeste’s body as a tool.”
Dario nodded once.
He did not argue.
Then Luciano looked at Augusto.
“You lose every Ferraro channel.”
His father laughed bitterly.
“You think you can erase me?”
“No.”
Luciano leaned back.
“I think I can stop obeying you.”
That landed harder.
Augusto had built his entire power on the assumption that family love eventually returned to obedience.
Luciano was ending that.
The Bellandi access agreements were cut.
The men Augusto had recruited were separated according to what they had actually done.
No collective purge.
No panic.
No performance.
Anthony watched Luciano carefully.
Rafael had wanted proof the cycle could end.
This was it.
Not because Luciano became gentler.
Because he stopped confusing cruelty with strength.
Later, when the council room emptied, Dario remained behind.
“I’m sorry.”
Luciano looked at him.
Dario swallowed.
“For Celeste.”
Luciano’s expression did not soften.
“Tell her.”
May you like
Dario nodded.
That was all he got.
