Chapter 63

"You are breathing... my air," Domenico murmured, his deep, raspy voice utilizing terrifying, controlled pauses. Arthur froze, the blood draining entirely from his rosy skin. He slowly turned around, finding himself staring up into the cold, intimidating eyes of the apex predator. Domenico did not raise his voice. He did not draw a weapon. His sheer, deeply masculine presence was enough to paralyze the corrupt lawyer. "Mr. Falcone," Arthur stammered, attempting to maintain a shred of bravado. "This is a simple business transaction." "This... is a fatal error," Domenico corrected softly. He did not strike the man in front of his wealthy guests. He merely raised his heavily tattooed hand, the artistic ink catching the bright cinematic light, and snapped his fingers once. Tony and two massive bodyguards materialized instantly from the crowd. "Take him to the sub-basement," Domenico ordered, his volume incredibly low. "Do not let him speak to anyone." The bodyguards grabbed Arthur by the arms, lifting him entirely off his feet and dragging him swiftly out of the bright, pristine atrium. Domenico turned his attention back to his wife, his sharp jawline relaxing. "Are you harmed?" he asked gently. "No," Evelyn smiled, resting her hand on his chest. "I knew you were right behind me."
