Chapter 14

The seven captains faced different consequences.
Michael stayed.
No command increase.
No punishment theater.
He had participated, then told the truth before Phase Two.
Anthony left Bellini completely.
His choice after losing council access.
Thomas remained but lost financial authority.
Two others retired.
One apologized directly to Ada.
She declined to meet him.
Another claimed he had never watched the feed long enough to understand.
We confirmed he disconnected after thirty seconds.
Still paid.
Still participated.
Trust reduced.
Not erased.
Consequences proportional.
Sebastian hated that most.
He wanted collective identity.
Old council versus Ronan.
Instead I forced individual accountability.
Movements weaken when members cannot hide inside “we.”
Ada returned to the training room after eight months.
Her idea.
Not mine.
First time, she stayed at the doorway.
Then walked in.
The heavy bag still hung there.
Camera gone.
Tripod gone.
Water stand replaced.
She stared at the spot where the bottle had spilled.
I waited.
“Want to leave?”
“No.”
She walked to the stand.
Took a bottle.
Drank.
Then handed me one.
Small.
Ordinary.
Perfect.
A trainer asked whether she wanted to work out.
Ada laughed.
“Absolutely not.”
We left.
