Chapter 7

The sheer gravity of Alexander’s words paralyzed David entirely. He stood trembling in his expensive dress shirt, utterly trapped in the bright light of his own kitchen. The affluent suburban facade he had maintained was completely stripped away, revealing the cowardly, violent man underneath.
"Alexander, please, listen to reason," Margaret pleaded from the kitchen island, her voice shrill with panic. She took a hesitant step forward, gesturing toward her son. "He made a mistake! A terrible mistake! But he is a successful man. You can't just threaten him in our home. We have lawyers."
Alexander’s icy eyes fixed entirely on the older woman. The absolute contempt in his gaze silenced her immediately.
"You have nothing," Alexander corrected her softly, devoid of emotion. "Your son's success is an illusion built entirely on my capital. His firm operates because I allow it. Your social standing, this house, the very wine you were drinking while my daughter screamed—it all belongs to me."
Margaret swallowed hard, the color draining completely from her rosy cheeks. She realized, with devastating clarity, that Alexander wasn't threatening physical violence; he was erasing her entire existence.
Alexander carefully helped Sarah shift her weight off her broken leg, supporting her upper body with his strong arm. He didn't take his eyes off David.
"You thought you were untouchable," Alexander stated, a low, lethal rumble. "You thought because you lived in a gated community that the rules of my world didn't apply to you. You thought you could break my daughter, tell her to lie, and simply go to work the next morning."
"I was going to call an ambulance!" David lied frantically, backing away slowly toward the hallway. "I was just trying to calm her down! I would never let her suffer!"
"You are a liar, David," Alexander said smoothly. "And liars are a liability."
Synchronized footsteps echoed from the front porch. The front door was suddenly filled by the imposing figures of three heavily armed men dressed in immaculate dark suits. They stepped into the foyer, moving with terrifying military precision.
David gasped, stumbling backward until his back hit the wall. This wasn't a domestic intervention. It was an extraction and an execution.
"Boss," the lead man said quietly, bowing his head respectfully toward Alexander.
"Call my private medical team. Have them bring the transport van to the front door immediately," Alexander ordered, smoothing Sarah’s hair. "We need to stabilize her leg."
"Yes, Sir," the man nodded, speaking quickly into a discreet radio.
"What... what are they going to do to me?" David whimpered, sliding down the wall until he cowered on the floor.
Alexander didn't look at him. He focused entirely on Emma, who was still hiding her face in his coat.
"Take the child outside to the secondary vehicle," Alexander instructed the second man. "Make sure she doesn't see anything in here."
The guard stepped forward, gently taking the sobbing four-year-old and carrying her swiftly out.

Alexander slowly stood up, leaving Sarah resting against the cabinets. He adjusted his overcoat, finally turning his full, undivided attention to the trembling man on the floor.
"Now," Alexander whispered, stepping toward David. "Let's discuss the consequences of your actions."
