Chapter 8

Instantly, four massive white American bodyguards in professional dark suits stepped forward from the shadows. They moved with military precision, their loyalty entirely unquestioned.

"Get this trash out of my house," Alexander ordered, not even bothering to look at Victoria as he spoke. "Drag her to the subterranean holding cells beneath the east wing. Bind her. Do not let her speak to anyone. Strip her of her phones and her jewelry. I want her completely isolated."

"Yes, Boss," the lead bodyguard replied in a crisp American accent.

Two guards hauled Victoria roughly to her feet by her arms, ignoring her hysterical screams and struggling kicks. Her elegant evening gown tore further, smearing frosting and dirt across the polished marble floor.

"Alexander, you are making a massive mistake!" Victoria wept, her face a mess of ruined makeup and panic. "I am your mother! You cannot do this to me! The board of directors will not accept this!"

"I am the board," Alexander replied softly, turning his back on her completely.

"No! Please! Alexander!" Victoria shrieked as they dragged her toward the heavy mahogany doors.

The heavy oak doors of the ballroom slammed shut behind them, abruptly cutting off Victoria’s frantic shrieks.

Alexander exhaled slowly. He stood perfectly still in the center of the devastated ballroom. He looked at the wealthy, fair-skinned guests who were still frozen in absolute terror, watching the man who had just dismantled his own mother without a shred of hesitation.

"The gala is concluded," Alexander announced, his deep voice echoing with measured, dangerous authority. "Clear the room. Anyone who speaks of what occurred here today will answer directly to me."

The guests didn't need to be told twice. A mass, hurried exodus began. The rustle of expensive fabrics and the rapid clicking of heels filled the room as the elite society fled the impending slaughterhouse. No one looked back at the ruined cake. No one asked questions. Within five minutes, the vast ballroom was completely empty, save for Alexander, his daughter, and his most loyal bodyguards.

"Clean this up," Alexander commanded quietly to the guards. "Sanitize the room. Lock down the estate perimeter. If anyone asks, my mother has retired due to failing health."

"Yes, Boss," the lead bodyguard replied, gesturing for the men to begin the grim work of erasing the violence.
