Chapter 5

Adrian charges Massimo with all the desperate, violent momentum of a man fighting for his life. His expensive tailored suit pulled tight across his shoulders as he threw a wild, heavy punch aimed squarely at the older man's jaw.
The bright, natural, cinematic lighting of the salon captured the explosive movement with terrifying clarity. But Massimo Caradonna was not just a figurehead; he was a veteran who had built his empire with his bare hands.
Massimo did not flinch. His reflexes were lightning fast. He fluidly steps into the attack. Massimo catches his punching arm with a grip like a titanium vice. The sheer, overwhelming power of the Mafia boss halts Adrian’s momentum instantly.
Without a single word, Massimo pivots sharply, using Adrian's own forward momentum against him. Twisting his hips to generate maximum kinetic force, Massimo then drives one brutal short counterpunch directly into Adrian’s upper body.
The sickening crunch of shattering ribs echoed like a gunshot through the silent salon.
The immense physical force of the blow lifted the thirty-eight-year-old man completely off his feet. Adrian spins backward, entirely airborne, hurtling uncontrollably across the brightly lit room.
He flew directly into the collapsible stroller-display rack.
The collision was catastrophic. Folded stroller frames buckle apart with loud, metallic screeches, the heavy aluminum bending under the impact of his body. Plush baby blankets burst from the shelves, filling the air with a chaotic flurry of soft pinks and blues. Wicker diaper caddies tumble across the carpet, scattering their contents in every direction. Adrian crashes brutally through the lower frame of the display, collapsing into a ruined, groaning heap among the twisted metal and scattered baby supplies.
No dialogue was spoken during the devastating counterattack.
The white American guests and hardened capos stood in absolute, paralyzed awe. The veteran boss had physically dismantled a man nearly twenty years his junior with a single, flawless strike. Massimo stood perfectly still, his tailored dark three-piece suit unwrinkled, his breathing slow and completely controlled. He did not rub his knuckles. He simply stared down at the broken man lying in the wreckage of the baby shower.

The silence was deafening, save for Adrian’s wet, agonizing gasps for air as he clutched his shattered ribs. The bright video colors of the torn plush blankets and shattered wicker caddies painted a morbid picture of a celebration turned into an execution ground.
Massimo took one slow, deliberate step toward his son-in-law. The polished leather of his shoes gleamed. The physical punishment was merely the prologue; the true interrogation was about to begin. But before he could reach Adrian, a hysterical scream pierced the air from his right side.
